Unity – Umoja
We will be unified in our actions and always speak with one voice. All our efforts will be focused on the achievement of our common goals and no one person shall be greater than the collective.
We will all individually be prepared to sacrifice our personal views for the greater good and will respect the decisions of the group. We live this and all of our African-centred values, derived from our shared African culture. We show deference to and will be guided by the teachings of our great African scholars and leaders, both past and present, who have demonstrated their commitment, by words and deeds, to the betterment of African people throughout the Diaspora.
Integrity and Honesty
As an organisation and as individuals, we are beyond reproach. We are committed to the aims of the organisation for purely altruistic motives and not for any personal gain. All of our decision making, accounting and business undertaking shall be open and transparent.
There will be no conflict of interest in any of our interactions and all trustees, members and associates will demonstrate this value in all of their undertakings on behalf of the organisation.
In this way we build trust amongst stakeholders and those to whom we seek to provide a service. By enacting this value in particular, we set a key leadership example to those whom we expect to influence by our actions.
Strive to Excel
We will be an agile organisation that helps both ourselves and others to not only achieve, but excel in our endeavours.
We will proactively seek opportunities to provide a nurturing environment that will encourage growth and development, while helping our people to fulfil their potential.
We will instil a sense of discipline in both ourselves and our youth, so they can see the connection between having this and achievement. This will encompass the creation and promotion of an ethos of self-reliance as a people and race.
We will promote high profile achievements from amongst ourselves in the areas of business and commerce, pointing to positive role models to be emulated and address the dependency mindset in our community.
We are a collective of likeminded African men from a range of professional backgrounds. These include working with the unemployed to develop labour market readiness, corporate and community development project management, regeneration, corporate consultancy, teaching, business development, financial markets and risk management consultancy.
We came together and decided to make a change to both their lives and the lives of other black men women and children by creating an educational eco system that will benefit the African community for years to come. We formed this non-profit organisation in order to give back to our community.
To enable the betterment of black people through the development of a sustainable, self-reliant economic base. Promoting unity and collaborative enterprises to improve our sphere of influence for the benefit of the black community in all areas of society including but not limited to employment, education, politics, law, the judiciary and media.
